1208-C
The General Radio 1208-C Unit Oscillator was introduced in Catalog R (1963) and remained available through Catalog S (1965).
The Type 1208-C is a general purpose frequency source covering 65 to 500 MHz. Direct amplitude modulation at audio frequencies is provided by a front panel phone jack and with an accessory crystal-diode modulator 1000-P6 or 1000-P7 balanced modulator, frequencies from 0 to 5 MHz can be used to provide amplitude modulation. The 1208-C uses a 2C43 "lighthouse" tube in a Colpitts type oscillator circuit. As part of the unit instrument group it requires an external power supply, the simplest being the 1203-B. Differences between the previous 1208-B are minimal, the panel is redesigned for optional rack mounting.
